The Gwinnett Braves~!
We have gone to 3 Gwinnett Braves games this year! The stadium is about 35 minutes north of the city.... we live 5 miles from the Atlanta Braves stadium and haven't been to a single game. We do plan to go sometime this month... Anyhow- the G-Braves (as they are being called) are fun to watch- it is such a kid friendly place and inexpensive! Chip and I went a few weeks back to meet his friend Larry and his girlfriend Lindsey. We had such a great time. It was also Chick-Fil-A night... so the Cow was there AND the San Diego Chicken! I must admit as much as I love baseball I watched the Chicken more than the game that night! We went last Sunday to watch the G-Braves play the Tides! A friend of mine from high school was the starting pitcher for the Tides. It was the first Braves game I'd ever been to where I didn't wear any Braves gear. Andy pitched a GREAT game- a no-hitter into the 6th inning! Trey had lots of fun and Shelby again enjoyed watching the players warm up in the bullpin and then took a nap in her stroller! Lots of races!
On June 28th I participated in my 2nd triathlon- The Iron Girl (its all woman)! It was a sprint distance- 1/3 mile swim; 18 mile bike; 3 mile run. This year Rebecca did it with me. We had lots of fun. I even beat my time from last year by a little over 5 minutes! It was also filmed and will air on NBC Sports on August 2nd- so look for me because the camera crew filmed me for about 1/2 a mile of the run (now that was motivation to keep up the pace!) Can't wait to do it again next year!
Chip and I also ran the Peachtree Road Race- this was our 5th time. I had my best time ever- 55:30!! I placed 7,600 out of 55,000 runners! I was very excited and got a big boost of motivation as that was our first "long run" of our marathon training. We have 4 runs during the week and Saturdays we have a long run- tomorrow we do 7 miles.
Around the house!
Trey and Shelby are really starting to interact alot and its so much fun to watch! Trey likes to make her laugh and she likes to try and get his attention by making funny noises. They also like to play "steamroller" (where they roll around... I just have to make sure Trey doesn't roll OVER her). Trey also likes for Shelby to ride on his ride-on toys- so I have to give her some help. Shelby is starting to get the hang of drinking from a starter sippy cup! Here are some pictures- but Trey thinks she needs help...
Cow day!
Today was Cow Appriciation day at Chick-Fil-A! Dress like a cow and get a free meal. So Trey and I dressed like cows. Shelby wore a cute strawberry outfit I thought it was fitting for a cow pasture... well it made sense in my head... I knew she'd eat the costume if I put her in one- I had a hard enough time keeping her from eating mine and Trey's. Here are the pictures...
