computer stuck....

Well once again I am behind on catching up this blog! So here I go... Here is Shelby playing with one of Trey's toy... She's a happy baby!Shelby decided about 2 weeks ago that she did not want the baby food I was offering- so while at McDonalds she managed to steal a piece of Trey's cheeseburger! Before I had turned back around she had already grabbed it and was stuffing it in her mouth! She loved it and the fries... and then while she was at it I let her try an apple pie- she loved that as well!
Thanks to Karen for the tip on this park in Roswell! The sprayground at Riverside Park- it is our favorite place to go and we have visited a few times already. Not only do both Trey and Shelby love this place- but its free!! Here are some pictures from one of our visits.
Trey loves to pat Nugget... Every night before bed time Nugget comes into Trey's room and Trey will hug Nugget and say- I love him. So sweet. Here is Trey patting Nugget after giving him some "special" wet cat food. While Kevin, Suzanne, and Gabby were here we took a trip out to Snellville to visit the Yellow River Game Ranch. This was by far a favorite for all the kids- they could touch and feed the animals- they loved having such a close-up view. A funny story from our visit that day- The Game Ranch is home to the South's Offical Groundhog, General Lee. While we were looking in Gen. Lee's cage we told Trey we were looking for Gen. Lee... He got very excited "Ooooo- where is Dukes of Hazzard"! LOL! Anyhow here are some pictures of our outing! And finally here is a shot of all the cousins playing together- well sort of!

Gabby's first trip to the SOUTH! PT.1

Kevin, Suzanne, and Gabby drove from NJ for a week to visit us! We had so much fun while they were here and were so thankful Trey and Shelby got to spend some time with thier Uncle, Aunt, and Cousin! Here are a few picture from our week (the rest of the pictures will follow!) ... We took a trip to Stone Mountain to feed the ducks. When Kev and I were little our Dad took us here every week. So its something special that we both cherish and were glad to continue this tradition with out kids...

We had to take them to our favorite place to eat- NY Pizza in Vinings - or as we call it the train pizza place.
We also took a trip to the aquarium- Shelby and Gabby enjoyed the whales and Trey enjoyed running from fish tank to fish tank! We also ran over to the Olympic fountain rings with Kate! This picture is 2 years in the making! Karen and I have not been able to get a picture of these 2 since they have become mobile so when they sat so still the two of us were sitting in front of them- click, click, clicking away! The girls rode in the stroller together and we were asked countless times "how old are the twins"... they are cute! The week before we got Trey out on the boat! He hadn't been on the boat since he was a tiny tiny baby... so I was glad that he was so eager to go.

Catching up!

Its been about a month since my last post. Believe it or not I've been spending alot of time trying to keep the house clean during nap time instead of posting to the blog! Chip sure appriciates it - but since its Friday and I've already mopped and cleaned the kitchen I figured I'd catch up here! Trey has been enjoying learning everything we do. He is very observant and is a quick learner. Here is a picture he took all by himself of Shelby!
The Gwinnett Braves~!
We have gone to 3 Gwinnett Braves games this year! The stadium is about 35 minutes north of the city.... we live 5 miles from the Atlanta Braves stadium and haven't been to a single game. We do plan to go sometime this month... Anyhow- the G-Braves (as they are being called) are fun to watch- it is such a kid friendly place and inexpensive! Chip and I went a few weeks back to meet his friend Larry and his girlfriend Lindsey. We had such a great time. It was also Chick-Fil-A night... so the Cow was there AND the San Diego Chicken! I must admit as much as I love baseball I watched the Chicken more than the game that night! We went last Sunday to watch the G-Braves play the Tides! A friend of mine from high school was the starting pitcher for the Tides. It was the first Braves game I'd ever been to where I didn't wear any Braves gear. Andy pitched a GREAT game- a no-hitter into the 6th inning! Trey had lots of fun and Shelby again enjoyed watching the players warm up in the bullpin and then took a nap in her stroller! Lots of races!
On June 28th I participated in my 2nd triathlon- The Iron Girl (its all woman)! It was a sprint distance- 1/3 mile swim; 18 mile bike; 3 mile run. This year Rebecca did it with me. We had lots of fun. I even beat my time from last year by a little over 5 minutes! It was also filmed and will air on NBC Sports on August 2nd- so look for me because the camera crew filmed me for about 1/2 a mile of the run (now that was motivation to keep up the pace!) Can't wait to do it again next year!
Chip and I also ran the Peachtree Road Race- this was our 5th time. I had my best time ever- 55:30!! I placed 7,600 out of 55,000 runners! I was very excited and got a big boost of motivation as that was our first "long run" of our marathon training. We have 4 runs during the week and Saturdays we have a long run- tomorrow we do 7 miles.
Around the house!
Trey and Shelby are really starting to interact alot and its so much fun to watch! Trey likes to make her laugh and she likes to try and get his attention by making funny noises. They also like to play "steamroller" (where they roll around... I just have to make sure Trey doesn't roll OVER her). Trey also likes for Shelby to ride on his ride-on toys- so I have to give her some help. Shelby is starting to get the hang of drinking from a starter sippy cup! Here are some pictures- but Trey thinks she needs help...
Cow day!
Today was Cow Appriciation day at Chick-Fil-A! Dress like a cow and get a free meal. So Trey and I dressed like cows. Shelby wore a cute strawberry outfit I thought it was fitting for a cow pasture... well it made sense in my head... I knew she'd eat the costume if I put her in one- I had a hard enough time keeping her from eating mine and Trey's. Here are the pictures...
